Man Goes On The Run After He Murders His Mother And Attempts To Bury Her In The Garden
A Mberengwa man went on the run after he allegedly murdered his own mother in cold blood and tried to bury her in a nearby garden.
24-year-old Timothy Zhou who is suspected to be suffering from mental challenges struck his 50 year-old mother Grace Zhou with an unknown object in the garden until she passed on.
Midlands Provincial police spokesperson Emmanuel Mahoko confirmed the grisly incident which happened on 25 June 2021 at around 6am to New Zimbabwe.
According to the police report, on the fateful day Zhou who was sleeping in his bedroom woke up during the night and went to sleep at a nearby garden.
It is further alleged that, the following morning at around 6 am, his mother reportedly went to the garden where Timothy struck her with an unknown object.
After hearing her cries for help, her husband Philip Zhou aged 63 teamed up with other fellow villagers and rushed to the scene. Unfortunately, it was already too late as they only found her motionless, while Zhou was attempting to bury her in a pit.
Timothy reportedly fled the scene after committing the grisly act.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police is already investigating the murder case. They have already launched a manhunt for Timothy Zhou.
The body of the deceased was retrieved and conveyed to Zvishavane District Hospital Mortuary for post mortem.
